Change in Exercise

For the past three weeks I have alternated the treadmill workout with the Biggest Loser DVD workout and the Curves workout and weights. I work out 6 days a week. On Saturdays I take the day off from sweat. This morning I got up at 6:30am with the intention of going on the treadmill but I suddenly could not face it. I wanted something else. The sun was not yet fully awake so the light coming through the front windows of our home was still tinged with daybreak's precursor. I looked outside and could see clouds in the sky. Since this meant the sun would not be intense for at least 45 minutes I went for a power walk. I walked for 50 minutes and even ran a bit, finishing the run at a fast pace. I do not know how different the inpact of the workout is between treadmill and sidewalks but for today I was just happy it was something different. Tomorrow I can face my Curves and weights workout.

Moral of story: When something starts to feel too stagnant and by rote, mix it up and see if that helps you to stay on track - so to speak.

Mozzarella was the God of Food for me for a long time. I no longer bow to the Mozzarella deity because I no longer eat it. I had to do this because my reaction to Mozzarella was always to eat it all and then find more and repeat. I am happier without it. A year ago I would not have thought that was possible but it is and it is more than I could have ever expected based on how I felt while still eating it.
