Thanksgiving is about Gratitude, Not Gravy

Here are some things for which I am thankful in this journey in keeping the pounds off.
  1. I am grateful for continued health and sanity in my life.
  2. I am grateful for the continued care I receive each day from a power greater than myself.
  3. I am grateful for my family, my friends, and all the people who have given me physical, emotional and spiritual support during these last four years.
  4. I am grateful that I choose not to make excuses for poor food choices today.
  5. I am grateful that I know and appreciate the difference between what I can and cannot eat.
  6. I am grateful that I take time to walk on the holiday and that I am not looking to just veg out on the sofa and fill myself with food.
  7. I cannot tell you how grateful I am that today is the 4 year anniversary of the day I came to believe that I could not keep the pounds off without the help and support of others.
  8. I am grateful that in my home we all have means of employment and can meet our financial obligations in jobs that help other people.
  9. I am grateful that keeping the pounds off does not cause me to shun social situations in fear of unknown food choices. I enjoy a full living experience today.
  10. I am grateful that today I can wear my skinny pants and they fit comfortably.
  11. I am grateful that I no longer have a wardrobe of shirts and blouses with food stains down the front. I do not have to worry that I will not fit into the clothes I have.
  12. I am grateful that I continue to be willing to accept that I am a food addict and there are some foods I cannot have in any quantity or in any situation. Thanksgiving is not a free pass.
I am grateful that you are reading my blog today. Please take a moment to share with me something that you are thankful for in your journey. Even if this is day one of your walk, there is always something of which to be grateful.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and all those in your heart.

Now, please pass the reduced fat gravy.
