Sleep Interruptus

I woke up at 2:15 AM and could not get back to sleep. I got out of bed at 2:35, made myself a cup of chamomile/mint tea and hopped on the computer to catch up on some of my blog reading. This was a mistake. Everyone has such interesting and provocative posts this week! I enjoyed reading them even long after the tea was drained from the cup.

It took me until 5:00 AM to get back into bed and then I slept until 7:30. I had planned to get up at 6:00 so this meant a change in plans. I decided to keep my exercise schedule for the day as a priority. This means some other things will fall by the wayside another day but in the scheme of things it is the next right thing to do.

I have finished my workout now, had my breakfast (late) and I feel ready to face the day without regret or annoyance about the changes. Endorphins make me happy!

What did you have to adjust in your day today.

I too could not sleep. Went to sleep at 1 am and up at 3. Ditto that for yesterday. Shoulder and other pain was waking me. I got up, stumbled over sweater boxes in the dark and woke up my poor husband and then trudged to the coffee pot.

I won't be right until tomorrow or the next day. May make a punchy comment or two on some blogs. My patience is thin when I am sleep deprived.

I will do shoulder exercises and go hiking today. Fresh air should help.

I am so happy to have found your blog! I lost over 100lbs but sadly gained it back. I am on a 2nd journey to lose the weight again. I will definitely be following you. I am so impressed at how much you have lost and how you have been able to keep it off!

Kim - Welcome to the journey! I am a firm believer in the mantra that together we get better!

I often wake up in the night and have the hardest time going back to sleep! Must be those years of nursing babies? Hope you get good sleep tonight.

I never wake up and can't get back to sleep. Once I am asleep I am gone. Mind you I never seem to get to bed early enough and that alarm going off at 5 am always seems to be just after I have crawled into bed. I need to get to bed earlier - I think I have been saying that all my life. One of my goals for this month - to get at least (preferably more) than 7 hours sleep a night.

I slept better last night. Full of dreams but all of them good.

I agree. Sleep is very essential in fitness. In sleep, the body breaks down the food more efficient.
