What to Eat the Day Before the Turkey

Day before Thanksgiving: what am I going to eat? I will be cooking all day in preparation for Thursday because we will be in the Magic Kingdom that day doing an event for a client celebrating a 25th anniversary. The question is what to eat today:

Breakfast
1/2 a banana (the other half was too squishy)
4 egg whites
3 slices lo fat ham
1 slice fat free Swiss cheese

Lunch
8 oz Greek Yogurt
1/2 cup sugar free cranberry sauce (homemade)
carrots
celery
1oz walnuts or pecans
1 corn muffin - (homemade, sf/mff)

Snack
Baked Apple (sugar free)

Dinner
6 oz Tilapia
green beans
tomatoes

Now that I know what I am eating today I can prepare tomorrow's food in peace. I have a plan for today and it is a good one. Speaking of tomorrow, I plan to post a list of 12 things I am grateful for this year, one of which is keeping the pounds off through another Thanksgiving and year.

Do you have a plan for eating today and tomorrow?

Happy cooking, Jane, this sounds like a lovely menu for today - yummy and healthy.

I live in the UK so it's just another day here, no Thanksgiving and I'm glad! I'm really enjoying reading your blog.

I haven't put the first bite of anything in my mouth yet but I'm feeling VERY on guard and almost scared. I know my track record! I already committed to not go over my calories. I think I need to do like you and write out my food for the day instead of flying by the seat of my pants. 1,800 calories worth of cookies is not healthy.

I have already been to step aerobics; it's 10 a.m. and I haven't had any breakfast yet as I have not growled. I had a weird thing happen last night. I woke up with a cramp in my stomach that was painful. I had to eat a banana with some pnb so that would go away and I could get back to sleep. It wasn't a growling hunger but a painful cramp. I had growled before I went to bed and had one Italian meatball, a sliver off the end of some homemade bread with a smear of butter, and an apple so it wasn't like I was starving. Anyway, since I am using the growl as my cue to eat I will wait until that happens and then eat what sounds good in small amounts. I haven't weighed in quite some time but the new, size smaller jeans are getting pretty loose. I have to go to the Dr. in December for my blood pressure prescription refill so I think I will just wait until I get weighed in his office and there is a very good possibility that I will be in onederland. Hope your Thanksgiving and the Thanksgivings of everyone reading this is filled with love and appreciation for all the blessings we enjoy.
