Walking to Memphis . . . by Car

Traveling this week. In Locust Grove, Georgia tonight, on my way to Memphis till Monday. Will write over the weekend. My food and mind are sober. I feel as though I have been granted the grace of freedom from the food obsession for this moment and I am accepting it with both hands.

Since I am feeling that grace it makes sense that while I am in Memphis I will go and visit Graceland and check out the home of Elvis. I am not a fan. There are only three of four Elvis songs I really like so the side trip to Graceland is only for filling some open space in our Friday morning.

I brought a salad for dinner tonight. I have my meals with me until Friday and the  I will replenish via the Whole Foods market in Memphis when I need lettuce, salmon and fruit for the weekend. Everything else I brought with me. Despite the trip to The King's home, there will not be any peanut butter, banana and bacon sandwiches on my eating plan this weekend.

Anyone else in Memphis this week?

Enjoy your trip. I'm not an Elvis fan either but my youngest daughter thinks he was pretty cool. Don't know why. :(

Have fun while you're here! Memphis-born, raised and still living here. I grew up a few blocks from Graceland, used to ride my bike around there, but have never actually been inside and toured it. Travel safely and be well. :D

I know what you mean with experiencing a period of grace with your eating. I often vacilate between being "on top of" or in control of my eating and being emotionally and physically drained with it. Those periods of grace are so welcome. Thank you for your honesty - your blog is very inspiring!
