There are people who wait impatiently for Summer to wane, Autumn to arrive, and October to pass so that Egg Nog Season can begin. I do like eggnog but I don't like it so much that I need to have it. Whether is it homemade or comes from a carton, often I pass it up. I find myself perfectly satisfied with a cup of zero calorie eggnog flavored tea - which is a good thing because a cup of commercially prepared eggnog is 360 calories, 38 grams of sugar, 16 grams of fat and 110 mg of cholesterol!
BUT JANE . . . WHY ARE YOU BOTHERING US WITH EGGNOG IN THE MIDDLE OF JULY?
The other day I was texting on my phone, using the Swipe feature. I was telling someone I was over hearing about the latest 'trial of the century' broadcasts on television. I was texting "I've had enough," and the Swipe feature filled it in as "I've had eggnog."
So, for that day only, eggnog was enough.
